He currently coordinates the Design Doctoral Programme, a joint initiative by the Universities of Aveiro and Porto, and is a director of the ID+ (Institute for Design, Media and Culture Research), a research unit fostered by the University of Aveiro, by the University of Porto and by the Portuguese Design Centre. He represents the University of Aveiro as Vice-President of ADDICT (Agency for the Development of Creative Industries).
He's a member of the Executive Board of the European Academy of Design and of the editorial board of some international Design magazines (The Design Jounal, The ‘Radical’ Designist: Journal of Design Culture, I+DISEÑO).

He made several works of illustration and, in 1991, he organized and designed the exhibition of the work by architect Cassiano Branco at Eden Cinema, in Lisbon. He was responsible for the design of the catalogue for the exhibition “Lisbon, capital of culture 1994” and for coordinating the global design of the Expo’98 international exhibition, in Lisbon. He was one of the nine co-founders of the "Público" daily newspaper. In 1988 he received the illustration award by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

In 1987, for a cultural exchange organized by Olicetti, he worked for one year at the Toshiba Design Centre in Tokyo making design research for industrial products. He returned to Milan in 1988 and opened his private design studio. His first clients were Cappellini and SCP. From 1993 to 1998 in parallel to his private studio he was a partner of Sottsass Associati Milan and was responsible for the industrial design group. In 2000 he completed the design of the new city bus for the Hanover transport system Üstra. 131 buses were built by Mercedes Benz. In 2004 he was the guest of honor at the fair Interieur in Kortrijk and was also elected an RDI (Royal Designer for Industry) by the Royal Society of Arts in London.
From 2005 to 2007 he was professor for industrial design at the Hochschule Für Gestaltung Karlsruhe.
In 2007 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Design from Kingston University.
His design studio in Milan has worked with various internationally renowned companies including Alias, Artemide, B&B Italia, Canon, Coro, Foscarini, LG, Magis, Marsotto Edizioni, MDF Italia, Muji, Olivari Olivetti, Pamar, Phaidon, Ströer, Thonet, Whirpool, WMF and Zumtobel.

In 1972, he found PLUR, an experimenta center where besides other objects, he projects lamps for Flos, containers for Gavina and tables for Knoll International.
In 1979, he founded Alias, which Baleri is also the artistic director. He collaborates with Belotti for the production of the famous Spaghetti Chairs, exhibited in the permanent collection of MOMA in NY. For Alias also produces the first pieces of Mario Botta design. In 1984, with Marsilia Decimo, he founded Baleri Italia, company that publishes the collections designed by himself, which also launches characters like Philippe Starck, Hannes Wittestein, Luigi Baroli, editing also parts of the established design masters including Riccardo Dalisi, Hans Holein, Alessandro Mendini, Angelo Mangiarotti.
In 1989 he founded the Malaparte House Association and in 1994 the Italian Committee Aalto Viipuri in order to collect funds for the recovery of these two great masterpieces of world architecture. In 2004 he founded the Centro Ricerche Enrico Baleri, having yielded to Baleri Italia and Cerruti Group, dedicated to business communication, organization of events related to the design and architecture. She’s a professor and Director of the Design Degree at the University of Aveiro and worked as a researcher with Ezio Manzini at the Polytechnic of Milan (2006 to 2009), during which period she also taught there.

Polytecnica di Design di Milano in 1986. In 2001, as a statement against the limited scope of the traditional designer and to open new possibilities for the industry Guixé started an ex-designer movement, defining himself by the same name.
Guixé is very outspoken in his dislike of design as stylized object and form. Rather than reshaping existing products Guixé’s work claims to alter ways of seeing and thinking. Design to Guixé needs to evoke constant evaluation of the parameters of function and active engagement and reinvention on the part of the consumer. It should be firmly rooted in contemporary experience and not linger in past structures of functionality. Because of this critical and provocative attitude his work is sometimes associated with the critical design movement, popularized by Fiona Raby and Anthony Dunne, but in general is more playful and less moralistic.
His non-objective approach is reflected in the frequent use of disposable or cheap materials and the quick and ephemeral character of much of his work. The final design often seems only one outcome of innumerable possibilities.

Alegre to the contemporary furniture design of Temahome. He obtained a degree in equipment design from the Lisbon school of fine arts and a master's degree in industrial design from the Domus Academy, Postgraduate School of Design in Milan, Italy. From 1995 to 1997, Filipe worked with Michele de Lucchi, in Milan, as a consultant for Olivetti Personal Computers, developing projects for personal computers. Currently he lives and works in Lisbon, with his own atelier where he develops industrial design projects in furniture, urban equipment and products, lighting, ceramics and glass in collaboration with several Portuguese and foreign companies among them Vista Alegre Atlantis, Asplund, Temahome, Schréder, Senda, Cerâmicas São Bernardo, Larus and Moda Lisboa.
In interior design, he has created spaces such as the Moda Lisboa design shop, Galeria Atlantis, Design aus Portugal exhibit in Frankfurt and the Delidelux shop. His works are shown at the Design museum at the Belem cultural center in Lisbon.
