Art on Chairs
| Art on Chairs is an international exhibition taking place at Paredes, Portugal, with the purpose of creating the largest world event of chair associated art and design. The international exhibition Art on Chairs is an exhibition of art, design and contemporary creativity, translating the confluence between the cultural and creative activities and the furniture sector of Paredes. It's from this environment where the "immaterial value will determine the material value" (Throsby, 2001) that emerges the competitiveness for the furniture industry sector that Art on Chairs intends to potentiate. “An idea for the world on a chair” is the theme for the international exhibition Art on Chairs, which will take place from September 14th to November 11th 2012. The program includes several initiatives, events and activities: exhibitions, competitionss, performing arts shows, editions, demonstrations, workshops, training sessions, concerts, conferences, facilities, films, documentaries, business centre, market, party. Creating to reveal talent, imagination and creative innovative solutions, global competitiveness factors of the new economy - knowledge based economy - is the purpose of the international exhibition Art on Chairs. |
